The suspects have however been arrested after the operation which they are said to have embarked upon barely a week after being released from the prison,

The duo are said to have broken into the armoury at the facility in New Bussa and made away with a number of weapons.

The two suspects arrested were said to be ex-inmates of the New Bussa Prison who used their knowledge of the prison to break into the prison armoury six days after they were released on Christmas Eve.

According to him, the suspects had admitted that the plan to break into the armoury was conceived when they were serving in the prison and they had been monitoring the armoury but later regrouped in Mokwa to finally implement their plans.

It was gathered that their operation was successful as they made away with some rifles and ammunition.

A police source disclosed to LEADERSHIP that 3 G3 rifles, 39 rounds of live ammunition, 6 rifle magazines, one hand grenade, 2 smoke cartridges, a leg chain and a walkie-talkie were recovered from them.
