The 90-year-old woman who gave her N1million life’s savings in support of Buhari’s presidential campaign, Hajiya Fati Koko, is back from her treatment abroad.
Leadership reports that the aged woman also called ‘Mai Talle Tara’ is now back from her sponsored medical trip at the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai after two weeks of intensive medical care.
The aged woman, who is a popular business woman in Kebbi state got the attention of onlookers when she decided to be part of the people supporting the presidential ambition of the Buhari. President Buhari, who had received a lot of donations in support of his presidential campaign for the 2015 elections, got about 54million from different groups and ordinary people.
Mai Talle Tara however suffered a stroke on May 29 while returning from Abuja where she had gone to witness the swearing-in of President Buhari. When she got back into the country on Sunday after her successful medical trip, Mai Talle Tara appreciated all efforts by the President Buhari and the Kebbi State government to make her whole again. The personal physician to the Kebbi State governor, Dr Abubakar Bawa Dakingari, also said traveled with her to Dubai to make sure she was adequately catered for. Dakingari dismissed media reports that Mai Talle Tara was abandoned.
“After admitting and treating her at the Sir Yahaya General Hospital in Birnin Kebbi at the initial stage, we had to wait until all the processes of traveling abroad were concluded. We had to do visas for all of them (accompanying family members) and you know it is not something you do in a day.”

He said the sum of N4 million was expended for the medical trip, which took care of their accommodation and feeding. Hajiya Mai Talle-Tara’s daughter, A’isha Isa, who accompanied her to the Dubai trip, told journalists that her mother was well taken care of at the hospital.
“They gave her proper care in everything. They worked very hard on her. They did all the necessary things for her. We thank the Kebbi State government for taking care of our mother. We pray God will guide them in their leadership. We also appreciate the doctor that went with us,” she said.
Among those who supported Buhari’s campaign was a 9 year old girl named Nicole Eniiyi Benson. She donated her lunch money to the Buhari presidential campaign
