She further adjourned the matter to 16th December, 2013 for mention.
Magistrate Miss A. Akinde ordered the trio: Tope Oladunjoye, 23; Joshua Muha, 20; and Emanuel Egbelo, 19, remanded on a three count charge bordering on conspiracy, armed robbery and unlawful possession of fire arms, preferred against them by the police.
When the suspects pleaded not guilty, the court did not take their plea and they were ordered that they should be remanded in prison.
Uwadione added that the suspects robbed one Monsurat Sodiq of one Samsung phone valued at N4,000 and a cash sum of N9,000.
According to the police prosecutor, Sergeant Chinalu Uwadione, the defendants with others at large conspired among themselves on 26th October, 2013, to commit the alleged crime at about 3:30pm at 16 Ifelodu Close NEPA Quarters, Abule- Era in Ijanikin area of Lagos.
He further told the court that the defendant were armed with one locally made double barrel pistol and other dangerous weapons with which they used, robbing a lady of a handbag worth 25,000 naira.
Three suspects were on Wednesday remanded in Kirikiri Prison custody by an Ikeja Magistrate Court, in Lagos, western Nigeria, over alleged armed robbery pending the legal advice of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
He also told the court that the offences was contrary to Section 1 (2) (a) (b) 4 and punishable under Section 28 (1) (b) (1) of the Laws of the Federation as amended.
According to the prosecutor, the offence committed is contrary to Section 5 (b) and punishable under Section 5 (2) (a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act, Cap 389, Vol XXXII Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2003 as amended.
The prosecutor also alleged that the defendants unlawfully had in their possession one locally made barrel pistol.
