31,000 applicants scramble for limited slots in Delta Civil Service

Pregnant women are not left out in the struggle to fill the employment forms online even when their pregnancies showed that they would soon deliver.

Leadership report:

The government in its bid to provide employment for its people advertised various positions, a development which prompted job seekers to crowd internet cafes to apply for the jobs.

Some of the applicants who spoke to LEADERSHIP on condition of anonymity commended Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan for creating the employment opportunities, and appealed to him to consider the qualified ones for the jobs.

The applicants were seen shouting themselves down at the cyber cafés while struggling to fill the application forms online.

The applicants were said to have besieged cyber cafes in Asaba and its environs to fill the forms online, armed with food flasks and their credentials.

About 31,000 applicants are presently scramble for job opportunities recently advertised in Delta State.

LEADERSHIP observed suspicious behaviour on the part of some of the applicants while presenting their credentials for scanning, an indication that they might not have been the rightful owners.

LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that hundreds of the applicants have suffered unemployment for many years and are now grabbing the opportunity to secure jobs.

The situation has become very chaotic, with cyber operators making more profit as they collect extra charge from applicants.
