An orphanage home operator, Mrs Olufunke Olaide, on Friday advised young ladies who were not ready for marriage to abstain from indiscriminate sex.
Olaide, the Coordinator, Home of God’s Grace for Orphans and Widows, Ikorodu, Lagos state, gave the advice in an interview with NAN in Lagos.
She said that ladies who were fond of sleeping around with different men end up carrying unwanted pregnancies.
Olaide added that unwanted pregnancy could lead to abortion, child abandonment or dumping of babies.
According to the social worker, if you are not ready for marriage, don’t sleep around because you will end up getting pregnant one day.
“After getting pregnant, you will begin to think of throwing the babies away.
“Whenever you want to have anything to do with men, think of the repercussion, think of your own future first before involving yourself in such act.
“Do not have it in mind that when you have the children you will throw them away.
“After going through such pains, allow the babies to go to who needs them, don’t bring them to the world for sufferings.
“Make sure you have something that will fetch you money before having babies because they have right to life.
“If you can’t do without having sex use condoms to avert unwanted pregnancies,” she advised.
Olaide, however, urged teachers and parents to teach their children effective sex education to reduce risk of early child bearing.
