Adamawa APC Crisis: Lawmaker blames Tinubu, Akande

He also assured members of his constituency that work would soon commence on the Hong-Mubi road as the project was captured in the state’s 2014 budget.

A House of Representative member from Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency, Adamawa State, Haske Hananiya, has blamed the crisis rocking the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, on former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, and the National Interim Chairman of the party, Bisi Akande.

Mr. Hananiya made the remark while fielding questions from journalists on Saturday during the commissioning of a clinic he constructed at Gaya ward.

“The national leadership of APC have erred in their decision to handover the leadership of the party in the five states to the G5 governors. We in Adamawa State feel that the attempt is a great disservice to all of us,” Mr. Hananiya said.

While commissioning the clinic, Mr. Hananiya said that the clinic and his distribution of equipment for youth empowerment were in fulfillment of his campaign promise to the people, aimed at creating business opportunities for the youth and women of his constituency.

Fulfillment of campaign promise

“Before the merger, we all agreed that governors under the three legacy parties (Action Congress of Nigeria, All Nigeria Peoples Party, and Congress for Progressive Change) that formed the APC would remain as leaders of APC in their states, but those from other parties that may join us cannot be leaders of the party, like the case of Adamawa, Kano and Sokoto states,” he explained.

He said that the APC erred in declaring Mr. Nyako as the party leader in the state and asked that the decision be reversed or it would constitute a great impediment to the success of the party in the state come 2015.

Lawmaker laments imposition of Nyako as state party leader

He described the action of the national leadership as unfortunate.

The lawmaker accused the duo of imposing the newly decamped state governor, Murtala Nyako, on the founders of the APC in the state.
