Nigeria and Algeria have completed the roster of teams for the semi-finals of the ongoing Africa Under 23 Championship after both teams played out a goalless draw in their final group game on Saturday.
Algeria had started their campaign in Senegal with a 1-1 draw with their North African neighbours, Egypt, before shooting to the top of Group B with a 2-0 win over Mali.
The Algerians were able to hold on to top spot with the barren draw recorded against Nigeria.
On their part, the Dream Team VI failed to score for the first time in Senegal, but they will be proud not to have conceded either as they march on to the semi-final where they will face tournament hosts Senegal for a place in the final.
The top three teams from the 23 Africa Championships will earn automatic qualification to the Rio Olympic Men’s football event.
