Femi Clay saw a dearth in the production of sunglasses for the cool Nigerian market/Nigerians and started the DAPMOD brand.
The lawyer turned entrepreneur created the brand known for cool shades in unique designs, launched on January 2015, DAPMOD has become a favourite amongst the upwardly mobile and stylish ladies and gents.
Taking a cue from ‘Dapper’ and ‘Model’ the first sunglasses brand name was created to stand out stylish. “I wanted a catchy name, one that’s unique like Zara, Topman, something different that stands out” Clay revealed in the interview.
The CD who revealed the brand isn’t about unnecessary publicity but business and production of cool, unique and sunglasses with a difference dished on his own love for wearing sunglasses as well, revealing that ultimately nudged him in the direction.
He revealed there won’t be a DAPMOD clothing or anything else in the future but if that happens, the brand will be an offshoot of the sunglasses brand.
He revealed there’s no showcase in the works for fashion week but definitely interesting collaborations and expansion in 2016 amongst other exclusive details…
