Arsenal walloped Hull City, making the top four in the league.
Away victories on Easter Sunday for Liverpool and Arsenal saw them gain ground in their respective bids in this season’s English Premier League.
While the Reds opened a five-point gap at the top of the table following their 2-3 win over Norwich City, Arsenal gave their consolatory top four finish target a big boost with a convincing 0-3 trouncing of Hull City.
In the game at Carrow Road, Luis Suarez was again in the mix as he reached 30 Premier League goals for the season
The Reds were ahead inside four minutes when Raheem Sterling who has perpetually confined Nigeria’s Victor Moses to the bench rocketed in a shot from 25-yards.
Suarez then doubled Liverpool’s lead after 10 minutes to give the visitors a dream start.
Eight minutes into the second half, Norwich did pull one back through Steven Whittaker nut Liverpool restored their two-goal cushion courtesy of another strike from Sterling. Even though Snodgrass registered another gaol for Norwich it was not enough to save them from defeat.
The defeat leaves Norwich just outside the bottom three with their three remaining games against Manchester United (A), Chelsea (A) and Arsenal (H).
It would definitely be a tough task for Joseph Yobo and his colleagues as they battle to escape relegation this season.
Meanwhile Arsenal was clearly in control of the game against Hull City, a match many dubbed as a dress rehearsal for next month’s FA Cup final in Wembley. The Gunners scored two goals in the first half, before adding the third in the second half.
Strikes from Aaron Ramsey and a brace from German machine Lukas Podolski was all the Gunners needed to secure all three points at stake.
With the latest three points, Arsenal stay 4th with 70 points from 35 games, they temporarily enjoy a four-point gap ahead of Everton who take on Manchester United in the day’s final EPL pairing.
