Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho on Saturday finally made his long awaited Premier League debut as he made a cameo appearance in Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Watford on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium.
Iheanacho came on in the 89th minute for Raheem Sterling who was one of the goal scorers in City’s fourth successive league win this season.
Iheanacho, who was promoted to the senior team of City this season, has been on the bench in the first three games, but the 18-year-old finally got his chance as the Citizens continue their perfect run.
City have now gone four matches without conceding a goal and have more importantly secured all 12 points in the process.
Also at the Ethiad stadium, Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo, was on parade but fired blanks for his team Watford.
At Stamford Bridge, Mikel Obi watched from the substitute’s bench as Chelsea suffered a shock 2-1 defeat in the hands of Crystal Palace.
The home defeat for the Blues is the second for Jose Mourinho in 100 matches and many predict many more to come as the Stamford Bridge is now demystified.
Also, there was another shocking result in Saturday’s game as West Ham in over 30 years secured their first win at Anfield, beating Liverpool 3-0 at their home ground
At the Britannia stadium, the duo of Brown Ideye and Victor Anichebe watched from the bench as West Brom gained their first three points this season with a 1-0 win away at Stoke City.
Earlier in the day, Arsenal also scrapped a lone goal win over Newcastle at St. James Park.
