Kano State Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, has pledged the state’s government support  for Self Help Group and Kundila Youth Development Association on improved sanitation in the state.

Abbas gave the assurance on Saturday, April 25, while inspecting the monthly sanitation exercise in Kano.

Represented by Alhaji Bello Bari, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, he expressed satisfaction with the performance and commitment of the two groups.

We are happy with the work and the level of commitment of other self help groups that took up the challenge to clean their environments,’’ he said.

He added that government is ready to assist and support the groups with working tools, adding that the groups should forward their requests through the appropriate channels.

Responding, the Chairman of the association, Malam Hamisu Yusuf, commended the local and state government for the support it provided to the organisation.

NAN reports that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise received mass compliance with limited movement of people and vehicles.
