A Russian makeup artist went viral after she posted pictures of herself using a dead fish as a makeup acessory.
Elya Bulochka was criticised by internet users after she posted pictures on Instagram from a mermaid-inspired shoot.
She described her art as “too beautiful for this planet.”
According to the Daily Mail, the MUA posted a now-deleted picture that of a transparent bag filled with the newly-purchased creatures with the caption “Guess what I’m going to be wearing today?”
This upset animal rights activists, who began leaving heated comments on her photos, like this…
Elya responded with a photo of a model’s face from the shoot side-by-side with a photo of her face covered in sardines to “play a game of double standards.”
She continued to post photos from the shoot — the most recent with a long caption regarding humanity: “We were blamed for inhumanity, we are torn into pieces in comments and media, and we are insulted, even cursed.”
“So, if these people see nothing but fishes (and kittens), let us remind you: ‘humanity’ refers also to human.”
While the caption does not really make any sense, the question remains of what importance is a dead fish as a makeup/beauty accessory?
