He said that the agency could be reached with any complaint from aggrieved persons and organisation through the following lines: 08187241488, 08187241617, 08187241597.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, on Thursday pledged to curb sharp practices in the agency so as to enhance efficient service delivery.

“These roles and responsibilities are derived from the provisions of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) Act 2000.

Agency creates anti-corruption Unit.

Mr. Abubakar and Ozo-Onyali Ikenna were appointed Chairman and Secretary of the ACTU, respectively.

“The management of NAFDAC will continue to provide adequate support to the anti-corruption and transparency unit to demonstrate our commitment to service delivery,” he said.

In his response, Mr. Abubakar, who spoke on behalf of other members, promised that the unit would handle the assignment with all the seriousness it deserved.

He expressed appreciation to the agency for entrusting such responsibilities to the unit, and appealed to members of staff to collaborate with the unit in eradicating corrupt practices in the agency.

The Director-General of the agency, Paul Orhii, stated this in Abuja at the inauguration of NAFDAC’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit, ACTU.

Mr. Orhii represented by the Director, Special Duties, of the agency, Jimoh Abubakar, said one major responsibility of the ACTU was to eradicate corrupt practices among staff, clients and stakeholders.

Mr. Orhii urged the chairman and secretary of the unit to be fully committed and proactive to improve staff’s productivity and stamp out corruption in the agency.

“Other responsibilities are to investigate alleged acts of corrupt practices in the agency, and to educate staff on the provisions of the ICPC Act 2000.
