LEGISREPORTS NG – The South- south chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports of the planned defection of former Senate Leader, Ndoma-Egba and the former Governor of Cross River State, Clement David Ebiri to the party.
A statement by the party’s South-South National Vice Chairman, Hilliard Eta, denied knowledge of the defection plan.
“I am not aware of anyone defecting to our party. In fact, to the best of my knowledge, nobody is crossing over from any other party to our party in Cross River State. Since I do not know, the report that anyone is defecting to APC in Cross River State is not true,” Eta said.
The party described the report as the figment of the writers imagination and urged the public to ignore it.
Reports had during the week hinted of the planned defection of former Senate Leader Victor Ndoma-Egba, former minister of health and works, Dr. Emmanuel Nsan, who served during the military regime of President Muhammadu Buhari, former governorship aspirant of the PDP, Mr. Goddie Jedy Agba, activist and anti-corruption crusader, Chief Utum Eteng, third republic governor of the state, Mr. Clement Ebri, and a former senatorial aspirant of the PDP, Chief Sam Bassey, to the APC.
