The House of Representative representing Numan, Lamurde/Demsa federal constituency in Adamawa state, Laori Kwamoti, has described as false the rumour that he is preparing to decamp to the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) next month.
The former deputy speaker in the Adamawa state House of Assembly (Laori) who spoke to LEGISREPORTS today in Yola said that those paddling such false information are not only ignorance of the provisions of the constitution, but that their desperation to get political powers blinded their sense of reasoning.
The lawyer turned politician who won his election on the platform of Social Democratic Party , pointed out that those wishing him to decamp to PDP are only advertising their frustration , but that they are not learned on the provisions of the constitution.
“The constitution is very clear on the issue of an elected lawmaker decamping to another party when you are elected on another party platform. If you decamp the party can take you to court and recover the party’s mandate from you, so am not prepare to leave National Assembly now, I have four year ticket on the platform of SDP, so I cannot throw it away “, he stated
Laori who condemned the recent kidnapping of the National chairman of SDP, said that the act is not only barbaric, but that it is a signal that the country’s past leadership has failed and that the government of Alhaji Mohammadu Buhari, must take quick action to tackle the insecurity problems confronting Nigeria.
He urged the security agencies to ensure that the SDP leader is release unhurt and that new security measures are designed to address the problems of insecurity in the country.
