– Senator Ben Murray-Bruce compared the age of Nigerian ministers and their counterparts from the United Arab Emirates
– The senator concluded that Nigeria desperately needs youths as ministers and heads of parastatals
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce representing Bayelsa East senatorial constituency in the National Assembly has taken a critical look at the average age of ministers in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the senator, fresh thinking in government can only be brought about by youth well versed in today’s technology.
In a series of tweets posted on Friday, February 12, Murray-Bruce compared the age of Nigerian ministers and their counterparts from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“The average age of ministers in the UAE cabinet is 38. By contrast, the average age of Nigeria’s cabinet is over 50.
“For instance, the minister of youths in the UAE is 22 years old while her counterpart in Nigeria is 51 years young,” he noted.
Stressing that the country desperately needs youths as ministers and heads of parastatals, the senator called on Nigerian leaders who love traveling to Dubai to learn from the youths of the UAE.

Earlier this month, Murray-Bruce condemned the incidence of financial misappropriation in government, especially in the wake of unpaid salaries owed to Nigerian workers.
The senator wondered why the federal and state governments, which are owing workers salaries, still want to consume 30 billion on cars.
