Babachir David Lawal, the secretary to the government of the federation has revealed that corruption is the main opposition of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Daily Trust reports that Lawal said this in Abuja on Monday, January 18 when he received a Coalition of Progressive Political Parties led by Mr. Ibrahim Yusuf Bashir of the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM).
The president made it clear from the day he was sworn in that he would wipe out corruption and this seems to be manifesting with the high profile detainees and investigations carried out by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The president has faced criticism from some quarters especially from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who have accused him of witch-hunting members of the party and selective probing.
Lawal noted that although the opposition party had the resources to launch a propaganda war, the Buhari administration, due to its honesty and integrity would win the war against corruption as that was the main oppositions.
Bashir congratulated the government in its fight against corruption and assured that the coalition was in full support of the government. For patriotic reasons.
Meanwhile, following the arrest of some national executive officers of Nigeria’s main opposition party, the PDP, in relation to the now popular $2.1 billion arms deal scam, some national officials of the party called for the immediate resignation of those involved.
